How MidpointPay Agreements Work

MidpointPay is a web app for managing buyer and seller agreements. It keeps the scope, amount, currency, messages, shared files, payment submissions and activity history together. Both parties can follow the same transaction record.

Reviewed against the current app:

How do I create an agreement?#

The buyer creates the agreement from the workspace. The seller must sign in using the email address named in the agreement to see the invitation. Email invitations are not sent automatically.

  1. Choose New transaction in your workspace.
  2. Enter a title, deliverables and acceptance criteria, seller email, category, amount and currency.
  3. Create the agreement and share its link with the seller.
  4. The seller reviews the terms and accepts or declines them.

What can an agreement cover?#

The available categories are digital services, ordinary physical goods, consulting and professional services, and software or website development. Describe the specific deliverables and acceptance criteria in the agreement.

How are work and delivery recorded?#

After funding is confirmed, the seller can submit a delivery summary. Both parties can share supporting files and messages in the agreement. Delivery moves the transaction into review. The buyer can approve the delivery and authorize payout, request revisions, or request refund/dispute review. Revisions return the agreement to funded work so the seller can submit a corrected delivery. Delivery and buyer approval do not themselves confirm a payout.

What if there is a problem with delivery?#

A participant can open a dispute while funded, in delivery review, or awaiting settlement. Buyers can also request refund review. Include a clear reason and evidence. Administration records a matching decision, then authorizes payout or refund, or resumes work. A recommendation alone does not move money. Reopening a dispute pauses settlement and requires a fresh decision.

How does an agreement reach completion?#

After buyer approval, the agreement shows Payout pending. For manually funded agreements, administration independently verifies the actual full external seller transfer and records its unique reference, amount and confirmation note. Only then is the agreement Completed. An authorized buyer refund follows the same confirmation process before the status becomes Refunded.

Who can see a transaction?#

The buyer, the invited seller, and authorized administrators can access the agreement. A shared agreement link does not give access to another account. Internal administrator notes remain private to administrators.

Can I cancel an agreement?#

The buyer can cancel before funding, provided no payment submission is pending independent review. The seller can decline an agreement before accepting it. Contact the administrator about a pending receipt rather than submitting another transfer.
